Shiny Pokemon Fusions Explained: Rules, Odds and Previews

A shiny fusion in Pokemon Infinite Fusion is fully shiny, never half shiny, and its colors depend on whether the head, the body or both parents were shiny. Since version 6.6, the game uses each Pokemon's official shiny colors with full palette swaps. This post covers the game's shiny rules, the odds, and how our shiny preview works.

How Shiny Fusions Work in Pokemon Infinite Fusion

A fusion is shiny when a shiny Pokemon is used in it. The fan wiki lists 3 shiny color schemes for every fusion:

Shiny parentResult
Head onlyShiny scheme 1
Body onlyShiny scheme 2
Head and bodyShiny scheme 3

When you unfuse a shiny fusion, each Pokemon keeps its own original shininess. Shiny Pokemon also show as shiny icons in the PC and party screen since version 6.6.

Shiny Odds

The base shiny odds are 1 in 4,096, and the Shiny Charm raises them to about 1 in 1,365. The table shows the chance of at least 1 shiny in a number of encounters:

Odds500 encounters1,000 encounters4,096 encounters
Base odds (1 in 4,096)11.5%21.7%63.2%
With the Shiny Charm (about 1 in 1,365)30.7%51.9%95.0%

Even after 4,096 encounters at base odds, the chance is not 100%, because each encounter is a new roll.

Official Shinies vs Our Shiny Preview

Our shiny preview is a quick color shift, not the game's shiny palette. The generator repaints the body with the head's colors, then rotates every color 150° around the color wheel:

  • Red turns teal, blue turns orange-pink, and green turns purple.
  • Dark outlines stay dark, so the shape stays clear.
  • The game's shinies use hand-picked official colors, so they can look very different.

How to Preview a Shiny Fusion

  1. Pick a head and a body in the Shiny Fusion Calculator or the Fusion Generator.
  2. Turn on Shiny to switch the sprite.
  3. Use the Custom Sprite Finder to see the normal, shiny and inverted sprites side by side.
  4. Press Download PNG to save the shiny sprite.

Which Fusions Look Best Shiny?

  • Heads with a famous shiny, such as red Gyarados or black Rayquaza, give the most recognizable game shinies.
  • Heads with strong colors give bold previews; pale heads give soft ones.
  • Swap the order: the head's palette is the one that changes, so the inverted shiny looks completely different.

Does Shiny Change Stats?

No, shiny is only a color change. A shiny fusion has the same types, stats and abilities as a normal one. Check them in the Infinite Fusion Calculator.
