What Is the Infinite Fusion Team Builder?
The Infinite Fusion Team Builder is a free tool for planning a team of 6 Pokemon fusions and checking the team's shared weaknesses. Each slot takes a head and a body. The builder shows each fusion's sprite, name, types and base stat total (BST), and a team chart counts how many members are weak to, resist or are immune to each of the 18 attacking types.
Regular team builders, such as the Pokemon Showdown teambuilder, only accept official Pokemon. This team builder uses the Pokemon Infinite Fusion type and stat rules, so you can plan a fusion team before you use DNA Splicers in the game.
How to Build an Infinite Fusion Team
To build an Infinite Fusion team, fill the 6 slots and read the coverage chart. There are 5 steps:
- Type a head and a body in each slot. The list suggests Pokemon by name or Pokedex number.
- Check each card for the fusion's name, types and BST. Click the name to open the fusion in the Infinite Fusion Calculator.
- Read the Team Type Coverage chart below the slots. Rows turn red when 3 or more members are weak to the same type.
- Swap a head or a body to fix the red rows. The chart updates as soon as you change a slot.
- Press Copy team link to share the team, or Random team to roll 6 random fusions.
How to Read the Team Type Coverage Chart
The coverage chart has 1 row for each attacking type and 3 counts: Weak, Resist and Immune. Each count is the number of team members, from 0 to 6:
- Weak: members that take 2× or 4× damage from that type.
- Resist: members that take ½× or ¼× damage.
- Immune: members that take 0× damage.
A good team has no type with 3 or more weaknesses and at least 1 resistance or immunity to every type. Check the exact multipliers of one fusion in the Fusion Type Calculator.
Example Team Breakdown
The builder opens with an example team of 6 fusions with an average BST of 516. Here is the team:
| Slot | Head + Body | Fusion | Types | BST |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Charizard + Gengar | Charigar | Fire/Poison | 512 |
| 2 | Lucario + Zoroark | Lucaoark | Fighting/Dark | 517 |
| 3 | Gyarados + Milotic | Gyarotic | Water | 517 |
| 4 | Garchomp + Lucario | Garcario | Dragon/Steel | 554 |
| 5 | Gardevoir + Gallade | Gardelade | Psychic/Fighting | 538 |
| 6 | Snorlax + Pikachu | Snorachu | Normal/Electric | 459 |
The chart shows 3 problems: 3 members are weak to Fighting, 3 members are weak to Ground and no member resists Ground and Dragon.
Fix: replace slot 6 with Florges + Dragonite = Floronite (Fairy/Flying, 601 BST). With that one change, no type hits more than 2 members, and every attacking type is resisted or blocked by at least 1 member.
Team Building Rules for Fusions
Fusion teams follow 6 rules that regular Pokemon teams do not. All of them come from how Pokemon Infinite Fusion builds a fusion:
- Type 1 comes from the head, Type 2 from the body. If both give the same type, the body gives its other type instead. Normal/Flying Pokemon only give Flying.
- The head leads HP, Sp. Atk and Sp. Def; the body leads Attack, Defense and Speed. Each fused stat is (2 × dominant parent + other parent) ÷ 3. Plan stats with the Fusion Stat Calculator.
- Moves come from both Pokemon. A fusion can learn the moves of its head and its body, so coverage moves can come from either half.
- You choose 1 ability and 1 nature from the 2 Pokemon when you fuse them.
- Held items for a species work when it is the body. A Light Ball needs Pikachu as the body, and a Thick Club needs Marowak as the body.
- Order changes everything. Charizard + Gengar is Fire/Poison, but Gengar + Charizard is Ghost/Flying. Try both orders in every slot.
Fusions That Are Immune to Each Type
Immunities are the fastest way to fix a shared weakness, and 8 attacking types have one. The table lists the highest-BST fusion with each immunity, without legendary Pokemon or Slaking:
| Immune to | Fusion | Name | Types | BST |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Normal | Blissey + Dragapult | Blisapult | Normal/Ghost | 646 |
| Electric | Blissey + Garchomp | Blishomp | Normal/Ground | 642 |
| Fighting | Blissey + Dragapult | Blisapult | Normal/Ghost | 646 |
| Poison | Goodra + Archaludon | Gooludon | Dragon/Steel | 622 |
| Ground | Blissey + Salamence | Blismence | Normal/Flying | 637 |
| Psychic | Blissey + Tyranitar | Blisnitar | Normal/Dark | 634 |
| Ghost | Blissey + Dragapult | Blisapult | Normal/Ghost | 646 |
| Dragon | Florges + Dragapult | Florapult | Fairy/Ghost | 608 |
The other 10 types, such as Fire, Water and Ice, have no immunity in the type chart. For those, use fusions with a ¼× resistance. Some abilities, such as Levitate or Flash Fire, add immunities too, but the chart in this builder counts types only.
How to Save and Share a Team
Your team saves in your browser automatically, and a team link shares it with anyone. There are 3 ways to keep a team:
- Auto-save: every change is stored on your device, so the team is still there when you return.
- Copy team link: copies a link with all 6 fusions in the address, in the format
?team=head.body-head.bodywith Pokedex numbers. - Calculator links: each fusion name opens its own page in the calculator, with stats and type matchups.
Clear team empties all 6 slots, and the bin icon clears 1 slot. Find more partners for one Pokemon in the Infinite Fusion Dex.
Team Builder Tips
- Start with 1 fusion you love, then build around its weaknesses.
- Avoid 4× weaknesses on more than 1 member; a single hit can knock out the fusion.
- Mix physical and special attackers. Put high Attack Pokemon in the body and high Sp. Atk Pokemon in the head.
- Use Slaking for its stats, not its ability. Slaking has 670 BST but only Truant; when you fuse it, pick the other Pokemon's ability.
- Check the game's dex. This builder has all Pokemon from Generation 1 to 9; Pokemon Infinite Fusion version 6.6 has 576.
