What Does the Infinite Fusion Map Include?
The Pokemon Infinite Fusion map covers 3 regions: Kanto, Johto and the Sevii Islands. The main story takes place in Kanto and follows the route of Pokemon Red and Blue. Johto and the Sevii Islands open up later, and most of them are post-game areas. The fan wiki lists more than 150 locations, including new towns, caves and islands that are not in the official games.
| Region | When you go there | Highlights |
|---|---|---|
| Kanto | Main story | 8 Gyms, Team Rocket, Silph Co., Elite Four at Indigo Plateau |
| Johto | Goldenrod City during the story; the rest after the Elite Four | 8 Gyms, Bell Tower, Ruins of Alph, Lake of Rage |
| Sevii Islands | Post-game | 2 Johto Gyms, Kindle Road, Mt. Ember, Bond Bridge |
Kanto Gym Leaders and Badges
The 8 Kanto Gym Leaders are the same as in Pokemon Red and Blue, but their teams include fused Pokemon. In every Gym battle you can only use as many Pokemon as the Gym Leader has.
| # | Gym Leader | Location |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Brock | Pewter City |
| 2 | Misty | Cerulean City |
| 3 | Lt. Surge | Vermilion City |
| 4 | Erika | Celadon City |
| 5 | Koga | Fuchsia City |
| 6 | Sabrina | Saffron City |
| 7 | Blaine | Cinnabar Island |
| 8 | Giovanni | Viridian City |
After Cinnabar Island, go back to Viridian City for the last Kanto Gym, then take Victory Road to the Indigo Plateau.
Johto Gym Leaders
Infinite Fusion adds 8 Johto Gym Leaders, for 16 badges in total, and 2 of their Gyms are on the Sevii Islands. Some leaders are also in different places than in Pokemon Gold and Silver:
| Gym Leader | Location |
|---|---|
| Whitney | Goldenrod City |
| Kurt | Azalea Town |
| Falkner | Violet City |
| Clair | Blackthorn City |
| Pryce | Mahogany Town |
| Morty | Ecruteak City |
| Chuck | Boon Island (Sevii Islands) |
| Jasmine | Bond Bridge (Sevii Islands) |
Kurt, the Poke Ball maker, leads the Azalea Town Gym instead of Bugsy. Morty uses a Dark/Ghost fusion with Wonder Guard, which only super-effective moves can hit.
How to Get to Johto, the Sevii Islands and Mt. Silver
You reach Johto by train from Saffron City. There are 3 key travel steps:
- Johto: get the Train Pass in the bar in the west of Saffron City, then go to the train station in the north of the city. Goldenrod City is open during the story.
- The rest of Johto and the Sevii Islands: beat the Pokemon League first; everything past Goldenrod is post-game.
- Mt. Silver: earn all 16 badges, then use the south entrance near Victory Road.
Outside battle, Teleport works like Fly: it takes you to any Pokemon Center you have visited.
New Locations Not in the Official Games
Infinite Fusion adds new towns, caves and islands to the classic maps. 5 of them are worth a visit:
- Crimson City: a small town reached only through Route 23, with move tutors and a Giovanni rematch.
- Deep Sea: an underwater area that leads to Togepi Island and the Sapphire Cave.
- Submerged Temple: an underwater temple linked to the Regi quests.
- Celadon City Black Market: an extra market in Celadon City.
- Battle Factory, Battle Tower and Triple Battle Lounge: battle facilities for your best fusion teams.
The fan wiki also lists Pinkan Island, Treasure Beach, the Secret Garden, the Hidden Forest, the Hall of Origin and the Sinjoh Ruins among the game's locations.
Map Puzzles
3 areas need a map or a guide to solve.
- Ruins of Alph: press buttons in a set order; the buttons are spread over several buildings.
- Safari Zone: follow a set path through the areas to get the Surf HM.
- Deep Sea: a large underwater maze; the route leads to Togepi Island and the Sapphire Cave.
The fan wiki has a detailed world map and maps of these 3 areas.
How to Find Pokemon to Fuse
Every Pokemon can be caught at least once per normal playthrough, through wild encounters, static encounters, gifts or trades. Use these 4 tips:
- Plan the fusion first in the Infinite Fusion Calculator, then catch the 2 parents.
- Find the best partner for a Pokemon you already have in the Infinite Fusion Dex.
- Check the wild encounter lists on the fan wiki, with separate lists for Classic and Remix mode.
- Use the Poke Radar and Pokemon nests for Pokemon that do not appear in normal grass.
Encounter tables change between versions, so check the version you play. New to the game? Start with the complete Pokemon Infinite Fusion guide.
