What Is the Infinite Fusion Dex?

The Infinite Fusion Dex is a searchable list of every fusion of one Pokemon, with each fusion's sprite, name, types and base stat total (BST). You pick a base Pokemon and choose whether it is the head or the body. The dex then lists its fusions with all 1,025 Pokemon from Generation 1 to 9, 24 per page.

A fusion calculator shows 1 fusion at a time. The Fusion Dex shows all 1,025 fusions of a Pokemon at once, so you can filter them by generation or type and sort them by BST to find the strongest partner.

How to Use the Infinite Fusion Dex

To use the Infinite Fusion Dex, pick a base Pokemon and filter its partners. There are 5 steps:

    1. Type a base Pokemon by name or Pokedex number, such as Charizard #006.
    2. Choose Head or Body. Head means the base gives the colors, Type 1 and the special stats. Body means it gives the shape, Type 2 and the physical stats.
    3. Filter partners by generation (Gen 1 to Gen 9), by the fusion's type, or by typing part of a partner's name.
    4. Sort by Dex number, BST high to low, BST low to high, or name A to Z.
    5. Click a card to open it in the Fusion Inspector, then press Open in Calculator for full stats and type matchups.

The page address keeps your base Pokemon and role, such as ?p=6&role=head, so you can bookmark or share it.

How Many Fusions Are in Infinite Fusion?

Pokemon Infinite Fusion version 6.6 has 576 base Pokemon and 331,799 fusions. That is 576 × 576 = 331,776 head-and-body fusions plus the special triple fusions. The number of fusions is always the number of Pokemon squared, since each Pokemon can be the head or the body, including fusing with itself:

Community dexes update at different times, so their counts differ. Infinite Dex counts 576 Pokemon from version 6.6, and FusionDex.org lists 594 with its newest sprite data.

How Infinite Fusion Dex Numbers Work

A fusion's ID is the head's dex number, a dot, and the body's dex number. Charizard (#6) as the head with Gengar (#94) as the body is fusion 6.94. There are 3 rules:

    • Pokemon #1 to #251 (Generation 1 and 2) use their National Dex numbers.
    • Pokemon after #251 use the game's own numbers, so their IDs differ from the National Dex. Aegislash is #329 in the game's dex.
    • Head comes first. 6.94 and 94.6 are 2 different fusions.

The game's own Pokedex number for a fusion is calculated from the number of base Pokemon, so it can change between game versions. Players use the head.body ID instead, and custom sprite files are named with it.

    Strongest Fusions of Popular Pokemon

The strongest partner of most Pokemon is a high-BST Pokemon whose best stats fit the other slot. The table shows the highest-BST fusion of 6 popular Pokemon in each role, without legendary Pokemon or Slaking:

    PokemonBest as headBSTBest as bodyBST
    CharizardCharizard + Dragapult = Chariapult (Fire/Ghost)580Blissey + Charizard = Blisizard (Normal/Flying)599

    GarchompGarchomp + Metagross = Garcgross (Dragon/Psychic)600Blissey + Garchomp = Blishomp (Normal/Ground)642

Sort by BST high to low in the dex to see the next best partners. BST is not everything: also check types and abilities before you fuse.

How to Find a Fusion With a Type

To find a fusion with a type, pick the base Pokemon and set the type filter. For example, Charizard as the head has 47 partners that make a Dragon-type fusion, and Charizard as the body has 29 partners that make a Fairy-type fusion. There are 3 more filter tricks:

    • Generation filter: Gen 1 shows only the 151 Kanto partners, close to the start of a playthrough.
    • Name search: type part of a name, such as "eon", to list fusions with Eevee's evolutions and other matching names.
    • Head vs body: switch the role to see the same partners in the other order, with different types and stats.
