What Is a Pokemon Picker?
A Pokemon picker is a random Pokemon generator that picks one Pokemon, or a team of 6, from the Pokemon that match your filters. This picker filters by generation, type and legendary status, shows each pick with its official artwork, Pokedex number and types, and links every pick to the fusion generator.
The picker uses all 1,025 Pokemon from Generation 1 to Generation 9. With the default settings, legendaries are left out, so the pool has 900 Pokemon.
How to Pick a Random Pokemon
To pick a random Pokemon, set your filters and press Pick 1 or Pick 6. There are 4 steps:
- Choose a generation, or leave it on All generations.
- Choose a type, or leave it on All types.
- Tick Include legendaries to add the 125 legendary, mythical, Ultra Beast and Paradox Pokemon.
- Press Pick 1 or Pick 6. The line under the filters shows how many Pokemon match before you pick.
Pick 6 never repeats a Pokemon in the same team. Press Fuse it → under any pick to open that Pokemon in the fusion generator, paired with the next Pokemon in your team.
Picker Filters and Pool Sizes
Each filter shrinks the pool, and a smaller pool raises the chance of each Pokemon. With no filters and legendaries included, each Pokemon has a 1 in 1,025 chance (0.10%) per pick. The table shows the pool for each type:

Water is the most common type with 154 Pokemon, and Ice is the rarest with 48. Dual-type Pokemon count for both of their types.
Ways to Use a Random Pokemon Picker
There are 6 popular ways to use a random Pokemon picker:
- Random team challenge: press Pick 6 and play a game using only those Pokemon.
- Monotype run: set one type and pick 6 for a single-type team.
- Regional run: set one generation for a team from a single region.
- Nuzlocke encounter roll: pick 1 when a route has no catch left.
- Drawing prompt: pick 1 or 2 Pokemon to draw or redesign.
- Fusion pairs: pick 6, then press Fuse it → to fuse each Pokemon with the next one.
From Random Picks to Random Fusions
The picker connects to the fusion tools in 2 ways. Press Fuse it → to fuse two picks, or skip the picker and roll a fused pair at once with the Random Pokemon Fusion Generator. To check how a picked team works together as fusions, load it into the Infinite Fusion Team Builder.
