Pokemon Infinite Fusion: 15 Beginner Tips Before You Start
15 beginner tips for Pokemon Infinite Fusion: safe install, save backups, controls, game modes, fusion rules, evolutions, Gyms and the post-game.
Pokemon Fusion Pro Team
The 3 most important beginner tips for Pokemon Infinite Fusion are: download it only from official sources, back up your save, and always check both fusion orders. Here are 15 tips for your first playthrough, from setup to the post-game, based on the official fan wiki and the current version, 6.7.2.
Before You Play
- Download only from PokéCommunity or the official Discord. The game has no official website, and other download sites can be outdated or unsafe. Follow the download guide.
- Install with INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat and run the same file to update on version 6.6.0 or newer.
- Back up your save. Saves are in the infinitefusion folder inside AppData/Roaming, and the game folder has a shortcut to it. Turn on autosave in the options.
- Learn the controls with F1. C confirms, B cancels and opens the menu, and the turbo key speeds the game up with 3 speeds.
Choosing a Game Mode
- Start with Classic mode for the standard story. Remix mode changes trainer teams, and Randomizer mode randomizes the Pokemon you meet.
- Turn on level caps if you want a fair challenge or a Nuzlocke run.
Fusion Basics
- Buy DNA Splicers at any Poke Mart. Use one on 2 Pokemon and choose which one is the head and which is the body. Use it again to unfuse.
- Check both orders. The head gives Type 1 and leads HP, Sp. Atk and Sp. Def; the body gives Type 2 and leads Attack, Defense and Speed. Test both in the Infinite Fusion Calculator before you splice.
- Remember the Normal/Flying rule. Normal/Flying Pokemon only pass on Flying: Pidgeot + Charizard is Flying/Fire, and Gengar + Pidgeot is Ghost/Flying.
- Pick the ability and nature when you fuse; you can choose from both Pokemon.
Evolution and Travel
- Trade evolutions use levels or items. Kadabra, Machoke, Graveler and Haunter evolve at level 40 or with a Linking Cord. Eevee evolves into Espeon with a Sun Stone and into Umbreon with a Moon Stone.
- Teleport works like Fly outside battle: it takes you to any Pokemon Center you have visited.
- Get the Quest Journal from the man at the top of the stairs in any hotel to track side quests.
Battles and the Post-Game
- Plan for Gym limits. In Gym battles you can only use as many Pokemon as the Gym Leader has. Johto's Morty uses a Dark/Ghost fusion with Wonder Guard, which only super-effective moves such as Fairy moves can hit. See every Gym in the map guide.
- Talk to the man in black on the second floor of a Pokemon Center and choose "Fix game" if something breaks.
After the Pokemon League, Johto beyond Goldenrod City and the Sevii Islands open up. Triple fusions come in the late post-game; read Triple Fusions Explained.
